Smoking Cessation
Acupuncture can assist you in quitting smoking by helping reduce cravings, balance your body systems, and reduce stress. You will probably need to incorporate some additional tools for complete success. The plan includes:
- Acupuncture
- Reprogram your brain using visualization/meditation
- Focus on eating a healthy diet and drinking enough water
- Adaptogen herbs
Acupuncture to help you physically withdraw from smoking
You can use acupuncture while you go ‘cold turkey’, or in conjunction with the patch or gum, or you can gently reduce the amount you smoke by half each time you come to an acupuncture session until you are able to quit completely. This can be accomplished in about 5-6 appointments (alternating full appointments with brief appointments) over about two – three weeks.
Example:
Session 1 – full session 20 cigarettes
Session 2 – brief session 10 cigarettes
Session 3 – full session 5 cigarettes
Session 4 – brief session 2 cigarettes
Session 6 – full session non-smoker
Brief sessions are 30 minutes for $35 and must be combined with full sessions.
